My name is Paul Harder.  I'm the driving force behind Kodiak Sockeye.  I was born into a fishing family and began fishing for wild Alaskan salmon at the age of 12.  I was running my own salmon boat at the age of 17.  I've owned many boats over my life time and have experienced a fair amount of success.  I've built 3 salmon seiners from the hull up.  Presently I'm in the process of rebuilding a 54 foot by 18 foot aluminum vessel.  The boat will have a brand new Integrated Marine blast freezer capable of freezing 3000 lbs of salmon per day.  It will also have a brand new diesel generator, new wiring, a new interior, a new sanitation system, new electronic navigational equipment as well as a new life raft and emergency locater beacon.  The vessels 3406 Caterpillar engine has recently been rebuilt and will start the season with less than 300 hours on the rebuild.

   I've fished salmon in many different places in Alaska.  Last summer I tried the Copper River drift fishery.  I had a small pack of red and king salmon filleted and vacuum sealed and frozen. I'm presently marketing them with fair results. I'm selling these red salmon fillets for $7 per pound and the first buyer I contacted is buying all of them and is very happy with the product at that price. I'm relatively new to the marketing game but I feel very positive about my chances for success.  I look forward to doing business with salmon buyers worldwide and pledge to you that my service will be honest, friendly, and prompt. 

   I have a tentative deal with one company that expects to buy a portion of my smoked salmon next fall and package it on fancy salmon shaped pewter trays.  We have already agreed to rent a booth together at the West Coast seafood Expo next fall.  Every year hundreds of big companies buy millions of dollars worth of fish at this show!  www.westcoastseafood
